Y-C-S-A (aka Why CSA?)

Hallelujah, the downtown Saturday market is back in business, and our cute-as-pie farmers were in town for the first CSA delivery of the season. I didn’t realize how much I missed sitting outside the coffee shop, enjoying a cuppajoe, eating freshly baked scones, and smelling our fresh herbs and vegetables —  all the while chatting with friends as they stroll by.
This week’s CSA selection includes arugula, lettuce, green onions, Jerusalem artichokes, mizuna, dried herb and garlic blend, and a dozen eggs.
Our menu for the next few days will include lots of salads, home-canned tomato soup, arugula and tomato pizza with whole wheat crust, Jerusalem artichoke and mushroom pot pie, and a frittata with greens. Assuming the greens actually make it home before I eat them. And I make no promises.
