I’d heard a bit of buzz about this film in reports from film festivals, and it’s won an impressive number of medals from them. The movie’s got a Metacritic rating of 75 out of 100, including glowing review from the New York Times and the New York Daily News. Suffice it to say, I’m thrilled to see it showed up on Netflix Instant. We’ve queued it up for the next Dew Abides Monday Night at the Movies.
Jenn and I were lucky to visit Alaska a handful of years ago, and we got to travel to the edge of glaciers both on land and by boat. Feeling and hearing giant pieces of them calve and plunge into the water near you is a terrifying and life-affirming thing. From the trailer, it looks like this might rekindle that feeling in my chest. Here’s hoping.
