Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Produce Department

Georgia Organics’ spring newsletter arrived yesterday, with a cover story that asks what could be hitching a ride on our fruit and vegetables. (Hint: The answer is not sunshine and pixie dust.)

So if you’d like to learn more about the pesticidal carcinogens, developmental toxins, hormone disruptors, and neurotoxins routinely found on our produce, head over to the website What’s On My Food?, where you can do some pretty handy searches on their database, or even download an app that links USDA food testing data to toxicology data.

Then go immediately to the nearest farmers market and hug the growers who supply tasty treats without using chemicals that make us look like this.
