Going old school

Found out yesterday about an incredible new resource, right here in Georgia. The Homestead Atlanta offers classes in heritage skills and sustainable living — and the programs are crazycheap, typically $30 for Georgia Organics members and $45 for non-members.

Topics include:

  • Designing beautiful edible landscapes
  • Cultivating mushrooms indoors & out
  • Forest to firepit: Woodchopping essentials
  • Organic vegetable gardening 101
  • Introduction to fiber arts: Hand spinning
  • The home dairy: Cheesemaking and beyond
  • BEER! Homebrewing basics
These are my people.

Anyone in Columbus interested in carpooling to some of their events? If so, drop us a note in the comments. I’m particularly intrigued by cheesemaking. (NOTE TO HUBBY: Know where delicious cheese comes from? Milk. Know where milk comes from? Goats. I’m just sayin’.)
