The fruit stash is growing, thanks to our friends Chris and Jenny who shared some wayward blackberry canes that were sneaking into their herb garden. The canes have since been potted in one of the many containers Trees Columbus has been saving for us. Another peep has promised elderberry cuttings later in the year, but the real gift is that we’ll be reminded of our friends’ support as we watch all of these plants grow.
Always heard it takes a village to raise a child, but it’s kind of nice knowing the village has branched out into urban farming. We couldn’t do it without you guys.
p.s. That’s a loquat tree hiding in the bottom right of the photo, another present from Jenny and Chris. Anyone else had luck growing citrus this far north?
