Cold hands, warm hearts

With so much heavy talk lately about meat slaughtering and ant killing, it seemed appropriate to use tonight’s Monday Night at the Movies to cheer all y’all up.

So we’ll be watching Werner Herzog’s “Happy People: A Year in the Taiga”, a look at a rural village along the River Yenisei in Russia, where the inhabitants live entirely off the land.

Herzog is a master of transporting his audience to isolated, spectacular landscapes — hopefully this film will be no exception. And it should also be a nice reminder of how little we need to be truly happy.
